Woman dies in Highway 20 crash

A woman died Sunday night in a one-vehicle rollover on U.S. Highway 20 in Bonneville County.

At about 8:30 p.m. near Milepost 286, Linda Mcaffee, 62, of Arco, was traveling east in a black Jeep Cherokee when, for unknown reasons, she drifted across the center line and left shoulder, the Idaho State Police said in a news release.

Mcaffee came back onto the roadway, overcorrected, went back off the left shoulder and overturned the vehicle. Mcaffee was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing her seat belt.

The westbound lanes of travel were blocked for about three hours.

Idaho State Police officers were helped at the scene by Idaho National Laboratory fire and EMS crews, as well as the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office. The crash is under investigation.
