KXPI becomes Fox affiliate for southeastern Idaho

Fisher Communications Inc announced Friday that it has reached an agreement with Fox Broadcasting Company to affiliate with the network over its KXPI-LP and KIDK.2 stations serving the Idaho Falls-Pocatello market.

FOX programming will move to Channel 3.2 beginning July 1, 2012.

Viewers will watch FOX on KXPI over the air on Digital 3.2 and will continue to watch it on Cable One Channel 21 and Bresnan Cable Channel 194.

“Fisher is excited to expand its partnership with FOX and to serve the viewers and advertisers of Idaho Falls-Pocatello with premium programming such as ‘American Idol’ and NFL football,” said Rob Dunlop, Executive Vice President of Fisher Communications. “We’re delighted to have KXPI join the FOX family. Mark Danielson and the team at Fisher Communications are top-notch and we’re confident they will do an outstanding job of representing FOX in the Idaho Falls community.” said Jon Hookstratten, executive vice president for Network Distribution at Fox Broadcasting.

KXPI has been a My Network TV affiliate since December 2008 and will continue to air that network’s prime time programming beginning weeknights at 10pm.

Fisher Communications also operates KIDK-TV, the CBS affiliate in Idaho Falls-Pocatello as well as 12 other full power television stations, seven low power television stations, and four radio stations in the Western United States. The company also operates the Fisher Interactive Network, its online division (including over 125 local and hyperlocal websites) and Fisher Pathways, a satellite and fiber transmission
