Bingham Memorial asks employees to come forward

The Bingham Memorial Hospital board called the second news conference in a week on Thursday, this time to make it clear that the hospital takes allegations of hospital mismanagement seriously.

In late May, the board hired a Boise law firm to conduct a review. Attorney Erik Stidham is leading that effort.

Stidham told reporters Thursday that his firm is willing to talk to any employees who are willing to come forward, and the firm will take those concerns to the board for appropriate action.

At a press conference earlier this week, the board announced it had filed a tort claim against two county officials they said had a personal vendetta against the hospital and alleged a “media conspiracy” in Local News 8’s reporting of BMH.

When asked about employee concerns of retaliation, Stidham said employees are welcome to call his office and talk anonymously.

The office number is (208) 342-5000. Ask for Stidham or Walter Bithel.

Meanwhile, a criminal investigation is under way by the Blackfoot Police Department. The Idaho Attorney General’s Office said Tuesday it is likely to assist the Bingham County Prosecutor’s Office in its investigation.
