Propane gas leak under control

The evacuation at Teton Village at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort due to a propane gas leak ended at about 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The leak was under the tram line. It was detected shortly before 11 a.m. by a construction crew working in the area, said Charlotte Reynolds, a spokesperson for the county. She said the leak was construction-related.

The leak prompted the evacuation of all business and hotels around the Teton Commons area, including Hotel Terra, Mangy Moose, Crystal Springs Lodge, Walk Festival Hall, Gondola, Teton Club and Tram Tower.

The leak was clamped shortly after Lower Valley Energy arrived on the scene.
