Soda Springs bans burning and cancels fireworks display

Following the lead of Caribou County Commissioners, the Soda Springs City Council has voted to ban all fireworks and open burning within city limits. The county took similar action covering unincorporated areas last weekend.

In addition, City Clerk Tausha Vorwaller says the city and Soda Springs Rotary Club have jointly decided to cancel a scheduled public fireworks display Wednesday night. She said the action was taken out of concern for safety caused by dangerously dry conditions. Secondly, she said the community took the action out of
respect for all those who lost homes to wildfire in Pocatello and Colorado Springs last week.
