Minor crash delays flights at Idaho Falls airport

Federal Aviation Administration officials will inspect the damage to a single engine Cessna Centurion airplane that crash landed at Idaho Falls Regional Airport Tuesday night. Airport Director Len Nelson said an
the plane, piloted by a Washington state man, was attempting to land at around 8:30 pm when his landing gear failed.

The plane skidded on its belly for about 800 feet. The pilot was not injured. The plane’s propeller sustained damage, but Nelson said the rest of the craft was not seriously damaged.

The crash caused some delay for two incoming commercial flights. One flight from Denver and another from Salt Lake City were placed into a holding pattern until the plane could be lifted off the runway shortly before 10 pm.
