Idaho college students compete to innovate

College students from all over the country are putting their heads together to see how they can make the Snake River Plain a greener place.

It’s all part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s 2012 National Geothermal Student Competition.

Eight teams of students have been selected to compete and conduct research that could better the geothermal energy potential of our area.

Three of those teams are from Idaho universities.

Each team gets $10,000 from the Department of Energy to help with their research.
