ISP says man led them on high-speed chase

A traffic stop turned into a high-speed chase on Interstate 15 on Monday.

Idaho State Police Lt. Ismael Gonzalez said a man was driving a black Dodge pickup when troopers attempted to pull him over for high-risk speeding near Milepost 80.

A chase started. It ended when the driver exited I-15 at Exit 72. ISP stopped the chase near Pearl and Hiline in Pocatello for safety reasons.

The driver went into Bellaire Estates, a residential area.

Police found the car abandoned in a parking stall. They have a suspect, but are still trying to find him. They have not yet made the arrest. He will likely be charged with felony eluding.

Police said they would not release how fast the man was going when he was pulled over until the arrest is made.
