Karole Honas

Karole was born and raised in Gooding, Idaho. This makes her one of the few “born and bred” Idahoans in local television. Sometimes she thinks this gives her a bit of an edge since she knows and understands Idaho issues, and she cares so much about the state’s future and people. Karole attended the University of Idaho and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.

After graduation, Karole married Ken Honas from Blackfoot. This is what brought her to Eastern Idaho. Karole started her career here in eastern Idaho. Karole held many positions including Assignment Editor, Assistant News Director, and she even handled the sports anchoring duties for several months.

Karole stayed home for several years when she had her children. She has three boys, Kristopher, Kreighton and Karson. She returned to television news when KIFI called and asked her to fill in for an anchor on maternity leave. Karole never left, and she continues to anchor the news on KIFI.
