Road construction to begin in Rigby and Driggs Monday

HK Contractors of Idaho Falls will begin building sidewalks and streetlights on both sides of Idaho Highway 48 (1st South) in Rigby Monday. The $400 thousand project will include light poles and decorative street lights between State Street and 3rd West. Travel will be maintained with one lane open in each direction until the project is compelte in mid August.

The Idaho Transportation Department said the contract also includes construction of a center turn lane and a northbound right-turn lane on Idaho 33 in Driggs. That $386 thousand project will include improvements at the highway intersection with Little Road/Hastings Lane (2500 North) north of Driggs.
