Fort Hall man denies sexually abusing 14-year-old girl
A Fort Hall man pleaded not guilty Thursday to the charge of sexual abuse of a child.
Maurice Edmo, 27, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Pocatello on June 26.
The indictment alleges that Edmo had sexual relations with a 14-year-old girl on the Fort
Hall Shoshone-Bannock Indian Reservation in April and May of this year, said U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson on Thursday.
The charge of sexual abuse of a minor is punishable by up to 15 years in prison, a
maximum fine of $250,000, and a minimum five years up to lifetime supervised release.
A jury trial is set for Sept. 25, 2012, before U.S. District Judge Edward J. Lodge at
the federal courthouse in Pocatello.
The case was investigated by the Fort Hall Police Department.
