Jackson supervisor wins Game and Fish director’s award

The supervisor of the Jackson office of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department has been recognized with this year’s Director’s Award. Tim Fuchs received the agency’s highest honor during a recent Game and Fish Commission meeting in Lander.

A Cannon Falls, Minnesota native, Fuchs started his Wyoming career in 1980 as a biologist aid in Glenrock and was named Jackson Regional Wildlife Supervisor in March, 2008. In Jackson, Fuchs deals with some of the state’s most challenging issues including elk feedgrounds, brucellosis, and chronic wasting disease as well as grizzly and black bears, mountain lions, wolves, bison and mountain lions.

“Tim has an insightful and pragmatic approach to managing some of the more controversial and sensitive wildlife issues in the state,” said Wyoming Game and Fish Director, Scott Talbott. “These attributes, combined with his extensive knowledge of Wyoming and its wildlife, have garnered him the utmost respect from sportspersons, peers, and other professionals throughout his career.”
