Police respond to Wells Fargo
Idaho Falls responded to an incident at the Wells Fargo Bank at the Idaho Falls mall shortly after 6 p.m. on Thursday.
Patrol Lt. Curtis Stacey said an adult woman had passed a teller a note that indicated she had been kidnapped.
Police interviewed a man in a red Jeep believed to be the woman’s father.
Police said investigators interviewed the woman and her father and determined the woman may suffer from an existing mental condition.
It was determined no criminal activity had taken place, and no crime had been committed.
The woman’s father voluntarily accompanied police to the Law Enforcement Building in downtown Idaho Falls for further interviews.
Stacey said the department will always respond to any report of a kidnapping as if it were the real thing. He said officers arrived on the scene minutes after a bank teller alerted dispatch.
