Idaho Falls company to hit the road with gargantuan part

Idaho Falls’ Diversified Metal Products Inc. is preparing to move a power plant component to the Midwest this week.

At about 200,000 pounds, it is the heaviest single item the company has ever built.

Business Development Manager Dan Payne said it took three months to build the piece of equipment. The transport trailer alone will be supported by 80 tires.

The exact route of the transport has not yet been announced.
