Mustang Fire forces mandatory evacuations

People living in two Lemhi County communities are under a mandatory evacuation.

Spring Creek and Indian Creek drainage are being evacuated because the Mustang Complex fires are getting too close, a Salmon-Challis National Forest spokesperson said.

The fires have reached the head of those areas which are pre-determined Management Action Points, according to a news release. The fire is moving to the northwest toward the Montana state line.

People are being asked to evacuate as quickly as possible.

For additional information, evacuees can contact the Mustang Complex Fire Information center at 208-865-2207. A fire information center is set up at the North Folk Fire Station – this center is open to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
