Fire ignites in foothills above Ammon

A wildfire burned in the foothills east of Ammon on Saturday.

The fire started around 3:25 p.m. It was burning in the 7100 block of Sunnyside Road. A cloud of smoke could be seen growing from the fire. No structures were threatened.

Bonneville County dispatch confirmed the were no BLM or Forest Service resources available to help fight the flames. The County Road and Bridge department has given dispatchers names of people with tractors to as for help. They will be used to make a dozer line to try and contained the fire.

Dispatchers asked people to stay away from the area so emergency crews can work.

No word on how this fire started.
