New evacuations issued for Mustang Complex Fire
New evacuations are in effect for areas around the Mustang Complex Fire.
Everyone along the Highway 93 corridor between Quartz Creek and North Fork is now under a Level 3 evacuation order, which means the fire poses an imminent threat to life and property.
Evacuees are asked to stop by the Salmon Valley Baptist Church, where the Red Cross is set up to help.
Meals, showers and cots will be provided free of charge.
The Mustang Complex Fire in the Salmon-Challis National Forest has burned more than 261,000 acres and is 16 percent contained. Fire crews don’t expect to have any significant containment on the lightning-caused fire until the first snowfall comes.
