Idaho Falls Clinic takes proactive measures for meningitis outbreak

The Pain Specialists Clinic of Idaho Falls was one of two Idaho facilities that received shipments of the tainted steroid linked to the meningitis outbreak.

The clinic is working to notify anyone who may be at risk. They have brought in all patients who have received the epidural injections between July 1-Oct. 1 for exams and are still waiting for test results.

Dr. Jason Poston of the Idaho Falls Pain Specialists Clinic said patients who experience flu-like symptoms, worsening of headaches and stiff neck to go to the emergency room.

This outbreak is specific to the epidural injections only and is not contagious.

No illnesses related to the outbreak have been reported in Idaho.
