Idaho Falls police: Woman hits bicyclist, keeps driving

An Idaho Falls woman drove onto the sidewalk, hit a bicyclist and other cars Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Jennifer Hunter, 46, was arrested on a charge of felony driving under the influence.

Idaho Falls officers were dispatched to an injury accident on Yellowstone and Broadway around 12:15 p.m. Witnesses said Hunter, driving a 1998 Buick Park Avenue, turned left on Yellowstone, driving up onto the sidewalk and hitting a 21-year-old bicyclist standing on the sidewalk at the curb.

Hunter then came back onto the roadway and side-swiped a Ford Escape in the inside northbound lane on Yellowstone, police said, adding that she also rear-ended a Toyota Corolla at A and Yellowstone.

The bicyclist was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Hunter was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
