Gabby

Gabrielle, who goes by Gabby, has family roots in the Canadian First Nations, Coldwater Band. A family interested in learning about and supporting her ties will be greatly appreciated and valued as Gabby enjoys significant cultural connections and learning opportunities.

An adventuresome young girl with lots of spirit and a sense of fun, Gabby is unafraid of new situations. She enjoys going on family outings to a local amusement park that has putt-putt golf, arcade games, and go-carts.

In 2008, Gabby and her younger brother came into care following the death of their birth mother and their father’s realization that he could not meet their needs. Gabby will be counting on her adoptive folks to help her maintain contact with her grandmother and her brother who is now in his permanent placement. Gabby is legally free.

To help Gabby achieve stability, she was recently placed in a structured, safe, therapeutic residential program where she can remain until she is placed with her permanent family. Prospective adoptive parents will be able to meet and get acquainted with Gabby at her residential center.

Touch is very important to Gabby as a physical expression of affection and of feeling loved.

Gabby needs a committed family that will start every day as a ‘new day’ and will frequently and regularly communicate that she is valued and has ‘worth.’ Her significant grief and loss experiences, which are being addressed in counseling, do continue to contribute to her feeling slighted or criticized, so lots of hugs and nurturing are required. Gabby needs a family “that will beam at her” because they truly enjoy being her parent(s). Single moms and couples are encouraged to consider Gabby!
