Man charged with arson on reservation
A Blackfoot man was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury for arson.
According to a news release from U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson, on Aug. 6, within the boundaries of the Fort Hall Shoshone-Bannock Indian Reservation, Hurley is accused of “willfully and maliciously” setting fire to a manufactured home and travel trailer.
The charge of arson is punishable by up to 25 years in prison, a maximum fine of $250,000, and up to five years of supervised release.
Hurley will make his initial appearance Friday at the federal courthouse in Pocatello.
