2 arrested after meth found in traffic stop

A routine traffic stop in Rexburg on Monday afternoon ended with police arresting two people after drugs were found in the car.

Rexburg police pulled over the car being driven by 34-year-old Juan Ernesto Munguia-Medina at 1:40 p.m on North Second West.

Police found an undisclosed amount of crystal meth inside the car.

Medina was arrested on a possession of methamphetamine charge. Passenger Adela Isabel Munguia-Medina, 28, was arrested on a charge of possession of a concealed weapon in a vehicle, though police did not release information about the weapon.

Additional charges for both suspects are pending. Police did not release further information Tuesday.
