Fight with officers lands Pocatello man in jail

A man who tried to fight with police after he was pulled over for suspected Driving Under the Influence woke up in the Bannock County jail Tuesday.

Pocatello Police said they were helping Idaho State Police administer DUI tests to 29-year-old Todd Thomas Edmo. After Edmo was arrested for impaired driving, he became combative when officers attempted to handcuff him.

According to reports, Edmo attempted to kick both officers. He grabbed a microphone cord from one of the officers and wrapped the cord around both of them.

Police were able to get Edmo into custody, but one of the officers sustained a thumb injury in the process. He was diagnosed in an emergency room with an injured ligament.

The incident happened at around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of 5th Avenue and Fremont Avenue in Pocatello.

In addition to DUI charges, Idaho State Police said other charges were pending.
