Store clerk charged with grand theft

Pocatello Police say surveillance video backed up a Maverik Store manager’s complaint that an employee was taking money from the business.

Officers began investigating March 13 at the Maverik Store on 2100 East Center. The store manager said she had observed an employee, identified as 56-year-old Kim Louise Stratton, taking a large amount of money from the business.

Police said video surveillance indicated Stratton would place money either in her pocket or her purse. Since the thefts exceeded one thousand dollars, Stratton was arrested Tuesday for felony Grand Theft. She was being held in the Bannock County jail without bond.
