Suspected drunk driver slams into police car

Police said a man driving under the influence struck a Jackson Police Department car, hurting two officers.

The patrol car was stopped on West Broadway, west of Flat Creek Drive, with its lights flashing on Saturday at 1 a.m. Both officers were inside the car when a Dodge pickup driven by Evan Dorsey, 37, of Jackson, struck the left rear of the patrol car, the Teton County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol conducted the motor vehicle collision investigation and the Teton County Sheriff’s Office conducted a DUI investigation on Dorsey.

After the DUI investigation was completed, Dorsey was placed under arrest on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and transported to the Teton County Jail, where he was booked.

Both Jackson Police Officers were taken to Saint John’s Hospital, where they were treated and released. A female passenger with Dorsey was also transported to Saint John’s Hospital, where she was also treated and released.
