Judge: Rigby student goes to detention center

A student who wasaccused of plotting to harm classmates at Rigby Junior High was placed back into a juvenile detention center after a court hearing Monday, pending stipulations required by the judge.

He had been charged with battery stemming from a fight at school.

The student is still undergoing mental health counseling.

Rigby police said this student’s plot to harm his classmates stemmed from bullying and he may even be a victim himself.

Investigators said he had compiled a list of people at the junior high school to hurt, which they found on his iPad.

With the help of the suspect’s parents, law enforcement also discovered a bag of weapons, including firearms, at his home.

He was taken into custody early last week.

No further information on the case was available.
