Eastern Idaho veterinarians to host public rabies vaccination clinics

Veterinarians across eastern Idaho are urging everyone to vaccinate their pets for rabies.

The Eastern Idaho Veterinary Medical Association will hold public rabies clinics throughout the region, from Wednesday through May 8.

Rabies shots can cost at least $25, but at the clinic they’ll only cost $12.

Senior citizens can get their first pet vaccinated for free.

“If your pet comes in contact with a rabid animal, by law it will have to be euthanized,” said Dr. Brad Francis, a veterinarian. “Number two, it is what we call a zoonotic disease, meaning it can be transferred to people of eastern Idaho protected.”

For the time and location of the rabies clinic in your town, call your veterinarian.
