Idaho Falls senior graduates with perfect attendance

One Idaho Falls High School student has never missed a single day of school since she entered kindergarten.

Now, she’s being recognized for her achievements.

Tawnie La Fleur graduated from IFHS this week with a perfect attendance record.

That means she went to class every single day school was in session. No sick days, no truancies, she didn’t even participate in her class’ “Senior Skip Day.”

La Fleur said it took a lot of motivation and a good immune system.

“It was my mom’s idea in the beginning to get perfect attendance and then around 3rd grade I was like I can do this through high school,” said La Fleur. “That was my goal, to make it through high school without missing a day and I did it!”

La Fleur now has 13 of those attendance certificates. Her mom said they’re all in her scrapbook.

IFHS also gave La Fleur a $50 gift card to Barnes and Noble.
