Plane crashes in Blackfoot field

A small plane went down in a wheat field in Blackfoot on Tuesday.

The Bingham County Sheriff’s Office said the pilot, Ryan Blaser, was out for a pleasure flight.

Blaser said his engine failed.

As he was setting the plane down in a wheat field, he hit a wheel track from an irrigation line, which caused the plane to flip upside-down.

Blaser was apparently not hurt.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
