Dog wakes up man in Pocatello house fire
The Pocatello Fire Department was dousing hot spots and investigating the cause of an early morning house fire Thursday.
No one was hurt.
Assistant Chief of Operations Ron Davies said the fire in the 400 block of Fillmore was reported around 6:30 a.m.When firefighters arrived the entire back side of the house was on fire.
The heat of the fire melted off a natural gas line meter, which slightly delayed firefighters’ response until the gas could be shut off.
Three people, who declined to give their names, live in the house. Only one of them was home when the fire started, and he was woken up by his dog. The occupants of the house believe the air conditioner had something to do with the start of the blaze, but the cause is still under investigation.
