Man wanted for questioning in Rigby shooting

Emmanuel Jesus Granados is wanted for questioning in connection with a deadly Rigby shooting.

A man was shot to death in Rigby early Sunday morning.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says 22-year-old Fermin Lemus of Madison County was shot multiple times while attending a quinceanera on East 200 North in Rigby. It happened a little before 1 a.m. Sunday.

Deputies say two men showed up at the celebration, where they confronted Lemus. They later went to a nearby parking lot where the shooting took place. Private security attempted to break the fight up when a man pulled a gun and fired several times at the victim. Deputies say he then climbed into a 1990 blue Nissan and left the scene.

Deputies say an associate of the man who fired the gun, Juan Lopez, was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center with a knife wound.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

If you happen to see Granados, contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at (208) 745-9210.

An autopsy will be performed, and the investigation is ongoing.
