Fire threatens to close trails near Salmon
Forest rangers are deciding whether to close down trails west of Salmon due to a wildfire burning west of Salmon.
Firefighters are patrolling the river corridor by boat to assess campsites between big creek and goat creek to remove ground fuels.
As of Saturday, flames were covering just under 6,500 acres of rugged land above the middle fork of the Salmon River.
Trail closures are pending in the area.
