Great Neighbor: Local company helps food bank

Twice a week, employees from Golden Valley Natural transport donated food to the Idaho Falls Food Bank in a refrigerated truck.

In February, Sam’s Club told the food bank they needed to have a refrigerated truck to transport the food. The Idaho Falls Food Bank turned to everyone it could think of, and Golden Valley Natural jumped at the opportunity.

“What a marvelous blessing that was,” said Buck Horton, chairman of the food bank. Horton said the company’s efforts keep the food bank stocked with frozen foods many people rely on.

One of the owners of Golden Valley Natural, Brett Ball, said his employees simply enjoy giving back to the community.

“They do get the feeling that they’re helping out,” said Ball.

Horton said as long as Golden Valley Natural offers help, he’ll take it. The same holds true for Golden Valley Natural.

“As long as it’s here and they’ll allow us to do this, we’ll chip in and help out,” said Ball.
