Inmate walks away from work center job

Authorities are looking for an East Boise Community Work Center inmate with a criminal record in eastern Idaho after she walked away from her job in the community.

In a news release Monday, the Idaho Department of Correction said Leah J. McCormack, 42, was reported missing Friday at 3 p.m. She was last seen at a motel near Interstate 84 and South Vista Avenue in Boise.

McCormack is 5 feet 3 inches tall, 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a black shirt and black pants.

Her criminal record includes convictions for possession of a controlled substance in Bannock County and burglary in Bonneville County. She was scheduled to be released in September 2017.

Those with information about McCormack’s whereabouts should call their local law enforcement agency or Crimestoppers at (208) 343-COPS, the department said. Callers to Crimestoppers can remain anonymous and might be eligible for a reward.
