Fire stations in IF to be fully staffed
The Idaho Falls City Council now says all five fire stations will again operate fully staffed.
The decision was made in a work session Thursday morning.
On July 11, the council moved to temporarily close Fire Station No. 5 when staffing was low, which had been prompted by overtime costs.
Council President Ida Hardcastle said the council decided to change the decision after an outpouring of public feedback.
“We determined … to keep that station fully staffed at the minimum manning, as with all the other stations, and try to find other ways to get a handle on this overtime,” she said.
