Chubbuck Days offers fun family activities

Chubbuck held its annual Chubbuck Days celebrations Saturday.

Scary face paint, down the clown, putt putt with some major obstacles and real huckleberry smoothies were just some of the attractions at Chubbuck Days.

These things and more were at the Chubbuck Days celebrations. Many people from Chubbuck and the surrounding communities came together to have fun and relax.
One highlight was the Eastern Idaho Scottish Games, showing tests of might, all while wearing a kilt. Another was the car show.

Attendees could even go for a helicopter ride or make their own wooden model, along with other activities.

“I’ve been doing games and I built a helicopter,” said 7-year-old Kyler Findlay.

Among the activities was a dog agility course. Owners and dogs both got to see if they had what it takes to be agility champions. The owners were ready and willing, but the dogs will need some training. Luckily, there was a booth offering classes.

Blair Findlay came from Preston to celebrate with his children and grandchildren.
“The way the community puts all this together, it does a fantastic job, especially for the kids,” Kyler’s grandfather, Blair said. “I think it’s a good experience for the community to get together and do some exciting things.”

Kyler said he like the parade because of all the candy he got, and his friends around him agreed.

There was also a free pancake breakfast by Allstate Saturday morning before the parade. The parade featured a variety of floats, including a convertible donated by Phil Meador of Pocatello.

Overall, many people just seemed happy to be out celebrating with their family, friends and neighbors.
