Snake River Landing to be new headquarters for Scientech
Snake River Landing announced Wednesday it will become the new headquarters for Scientech.
Scientech is an international company that provides products and services to the commercial power industry, mostly focused on nuclear power. Scientech is working with Ball Ventures and Martek Global Services for the new location. Next summer, they will permanently leave their current building on Woodruff Avenue.
“Our new building is necessary to support our continued growth. We have been growing at a fairly constant and rapid pace the last several years,” said Scott Robuck, vice president, Nuclear Group Curtis Wright Flow Control.
The project will consist of two buildings to house two divisions. Together, the buildings will total 112,000 square feet.
“It will be the first time in a long time that we’ve been in a common facility that is designed specifically to meet our needs,” said Robuck.
Lt. Gov. Brad Little was at the press conference, and he believes this may boost Idaho’s economy.
“We try to drive growth, more jobs and better jobs. This is an example because they are great jobs at this company,” said Little.
“The city of Idaho Falls definitely is proponent of business growth in our community,” said Idaho Falls Mayor Jared Fuhriman.
Despite considering several different locations, Scientech is sticking to its Idaho roots. It was founded in Idaho Falls nearly three decades ago.
“It’s very complementary to the energy part of Bonneville County. These are experts in their field that add great value to the energy development not only in the United States but in the world,” said Little.
“This rivals any multiuse project in the United States,” said Mark Tornillo, president and CEO of Martek.
Scientech employs about 200 people in Idaho Falls. The new buildings will be able to support nearly double that many employees. Many are excited for the employees to be able to take advantage of the amenities at Snake River Landing.
Once the facility is complete, it will still be several months for Scientech to make the full move. They will have to finish up a few long-term projects at current locations.
