Ido Walker
Ido joined the First Alert 8 Weather Team in May 2010.
Ido graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho with a B.A. in communications with an emphasis in broadcast and a minor in information systems.
She interned at KIFI Local News 8 as a camera operator and then as a CG operator. She officially joined the team as a newscast producer and editor. She has produced Local News 8 at 5, Local News 8 at 6 and Local News 8’s 10:35 newscast Newsline.
She was promoted to managing editor and soon after was promoted again to digital content director where she oversaw LocalNews8.com utilizing her design and programming skills.
Now, Ido is excited for her new adventure which combines her passions for science, public speaking, writing and computers as the morning weather anchor.
Ido has always been fascinated by weather since her days as a kid during hurricane season and severe thunderstorms along the Gulf Coast. She is always looking for the bright side of any weather forecast but also wants to make sure she keeps eastern Idaho and western Wyoming safe.
Ido is married to a local Idaho Falls man and has a 3-pound Chihuahua named Kaui because she looks like a Holstein. She was born and raised by her mother in McAllen, Texas. She has two brothers and a sister.
When not at work, Ido likes to spend time where family, walking her dog, working in her garden, listening to music, or watching her favorite comedy shows. She enjoys traveling, especially to Island Park, playing her drumset, reading, riding in a tractor with her husband, and is an avid NFL fan.
