Marissa Bodnar
Marissa Bodnar comes to KIFI from Boston, where she studied at Northeastern University and received a B.A. in Journalism, and minor in Cinema Studies.
After graduation, Marissa worked on the assignment desk at New England Cable News, a regional network out of Boston. She started off as an intern at NECN, working one-on-one with a general assignment reporter for the past year.
At Northeastern, Marissa reported for NUTV and served as assignment editor during her senior year. She had the opportunity to cover President Obama’s appearance at the university during the special election for the late Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat, and also took part in the station’s inaugural live broadcasts during student body president elections.
Marissa played three years of college soccer and took advantage of the university’s co-op program, spending six months in Los Angeles as an intern on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
Outside the newsroom, Marissa enjoys traveling, shopping, running, trying to ski, and spending time with family and friends.
Marissa looks forward to getting to know the people and issues of Idaho Falls. She would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions. E-mail her any time at mbodnar@localnews8.com with story ideas!
