Taylor Alward

Taylor Alward is very excited to join Local News 8.

Taylor graduated from Carroll University in Waukesha, Wis., in May 2012 with a degree in journalism. While at Carroll, he played on the Midwest Conference Champion golf team for the Pioneers.

Taylor grew up in Orem, Utah, playing and watching any and every sport while he was growing up. At Orem High School, he was an All-State golfer for the Tigers in 2007.

While in Orem, Taylor worked for the Orem Owlz, broadcasting games and interviewing players for the team’s website.

During football season, you will see Taylor proudly rooting on his Green Bay Packers and Oregon Ducks. He is also a die-hard Utah Jazz fan and still isn’t over Michael Jordan’s shot in the finals.

One of his favorite hobbies is watching Minor League Baseball. In total Taylor has seen 19 different Minor League ballparks, from Appleton, Wis., to San Bernadino, Calif.

Taylor has one sister who currently goes to Gonzaga, and his parents still call the Orem area home.

Taylor can’t wait to be out and about in Idaho Falls and Pocatello, covering all of the different sports there are to offer. If you see him covering a game don’t be afraid to say hi.
