Man accused of trying to set woman on fire

An Idaho Falls man was arrested after police said he tried to set a woman on fire.

Police were called to the 100 block of Third Street around 8 p.m. Saturday for a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, they spoke with a 56-year-old woman who said David W. Stahlke, 36, punched her in the face and tried to set her on fire during an argument.

Stahlke was arrested on charges of aggravated battery and resisting arrest.

He was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
