Robber strikes two Pocatello convenience stores

Police are looking for a suspect who held up two Pocatello convenience stores early Thursday.

The man robbed the Jackson Food Store at 1527 Pocatello Creek Road shortly after midnight. Police said the same man robbed the Pit Stop at 1309 Arthur Ave. shortly after 1 a.m.

Police said the robber was armed with a weapon, but it was not a firearm.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 5’9″ and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, a hunter-orange ski mask, light blue or gray jeans and black shoes.

Police are asking all area convenience stores to review their surveillance tapes from Wednesday night and Thursday morning.They said it was possible the man may have entered their stores.
