Eastern Idaho State Fair-goers brave the rainy weather

Ferris wheels aren’t supposed to spin against dark stormy skies, and carnival games are usually played without a sump pump nearby, but at the Eastern Idaho State fair, the show must go on.

Lyndsey Vanorden and her husband brought their two kids to the fair Monday as it rained through the morning and afternoon.

“It is what it is, and we’re going to come and have fun anyway,” said Vanorden. “My husband farms, and we have limited options as to when we can come, so we were coming rain or shine.”

Another mother, Shanna Mckinlay, didn’t let the weather hold her back.

“Once it started pouring we were a little worried, but we have our umbrellas, so we toughed it out,” said Mckinlay.

Fair workers were worried about the rain, but said they were surprised by the amount of people. Daman Monk owns a mechanical bull business, and travels throughout the western U.S.

“The people here they actually came out and everything else, even though it’s still raining,” said Munk.
