2 arrested in fight with Idaho Falls police

Two brothers were arrested after a scuffle with Idaho Falls police officers.

On Saturday before 11 p.m., officers responded to a noise disturbance in the 200 block of 18th Street.

Officers confronted a group of about 10 people including Victor Madrigal, 41, and Victor Delosant Madrigal, 40, outside the home having a party.

Victor Madrigal began yelling and swearing about his neighbors calling the police, according to a news release Tuesday.

Police said Victor Madrigal refused to be quiet and officers told him he was under arrest for disturbing the peace. He retreated into the home and Victor Delosant Madrigal and others blocked the door to keep officers from pursuing Victor Madrigal, police said.

Victor Delosant Madrigal pushed an officer back to keep the officer from entering the house, police said. An officer Tased Victor Delosant Madrigal. Additional officers were called to help, and both Madrigals were arrested.

Police said an officer was head butted by Victor Madrigal during the arrest.

Both men were booked into the Bonneville County Jail.

Madrigal was arrested on charges of disturbing the peace, resisting an officer and battery on an officer.

In a Facebook message to Local News 8 on Tuesday, Victor Madrigal said the incident happened during his daughter’s birthday party.

“I feel like my constitutional rights have been violated,” he wrote.
