Website: Idaho easiest place to start a business

Are you looking to start a business in Idaho? You may be in luck because the Gem State has been named as one of the easiest places to start one. ranks Idaho fourth in the nation for entrepreneurs, offering online resources, top-level training and networking programs.

One resource is the Idaho Small Business Development Center in Idaho Falls, a one-stop shop for start-ups.

“We work with them on everything it takes for a business to get up and running and be successful,” said Regional Director Dave Noack. The Idaho Small Business Development Center has offices across the state that provide free counseling and paid workshops.

“Most companies when they get started, people have ideas on how to do things and what they don’t realize is that it’s only a little piece of what it takes to be successful,” said Noack.

The center helps people learn about financing, marketing, business models and much more.

“When you get into the driver seat of a business it’s a whole different experience and that’s where most people get into trouble. They don’t understand how to navigate problems that pop up,” said Noack.

They even have a space that start-ups can utilize, like the company Advanced Ceramic Fibers.

“Getting a place that is affordable and bringing in resources and expertise, you can’t get enough advice when you’re starting up a small business,” said John Garnay, Inventor of Advanced Ceramic Fibers.

The company is making fiber at an affordable cost that could make for better bridges and cars.

“I’m surrounded by competent, administrative business-type people who themselves have done start ups. They’re also excited about putting the necessary business infrastructure to grow Advanced Ceramic Fibers into a very competitive large organization in a short period of time,” said Garnay.

There are six centers across the state.

Another reason that makes Idaho a very entrepreneur-friendly atmosphere is how easy it is to get a business license even with regulations.
