Flood waters rush down Mink Creek area

Heavy rain in the Mink Creek area south of Pocatello washed debris and mud down roads and hillsides late Sunday afternoon.

Eyewitnesses tell us the flash flood covered the roads and driveways forcing the sheriff’s office to close Mink Creek road for a time. It now has been reopened.

Road crews are working to clear the rocks and mud left behind.

The Sherif’sf office said there are some homes damaged by the flood waters, but not sure of the extent of the damage.

Our reporter Kaitlin Loukites is in the area and will have a full report tonight on Eyewitness News on KXPI at 9p and KIDK at 10p and also on Local News 8 at 10p.
