Fort Hall motorcyclist killed in US 91 crash

A Fort Hall man was killed in a crash on US 91 at Border School Crossing, near Shoshone-Bannock High School, at around 9:54 p.m. Thursday.

Idaho State Police said Vieto S. Appenay, 40, was traveling northbound on US 91 on a 2006 Harley Davidson Motorcycle when he was struck by a 1999 Toyota Tacoma pickup driven by Shirley R. Boles, 69, of Pocatello.

Investigators said Boles failed to yield at the intersection.

Appenay was taken by ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center, where he died of injuries sustained in the crash.

The highway was blocked for about one and a half hours.

Investigation of the crash was continuing Friday morning.
