AJ: Waiting for Adoption

There are dozens of foster children in Eastern Idaho waiting for adoption into a loving family. Health and Welfare workers have asked us to help raise awareness. They chose a very special young man as just one example of a local child waiting to be adopted.

A trip to the Wild Adventure Corn Maze gave me a chance to get to know 15 year old AJ. I learned some of the things he likes to do.

“Going on rides at fairs and at Lagoon,” AJ said.

When AJ spotted the gyroscope ride at the corn maze he headed right for it. In a way it sort of represents the topsy turvey life AJ has led – moving from one temporary foster care placement to another. He badly wants to be in adopted and have a family of his own.

“It would be helpful, instead of moving around a lot,” AJ said.

AJ. is a fun loving boy who likes funny movies.

“Grown Ups 2, about a bunch of friends who get together and do weird things,” AJ said.

AJ also loves the outdoors and hopes an adoptive family would enjoy it with him.
