ISU student dies in I-15 wreck

One person is dead in an accident on Interstate 15 near the Blackfoot Rest Area on Thursday morning.

The driver of a 2005 Dodge pickup truck was traveling northbound around 7 a.m. and tried to pass a slower-moving vehicle, Idaho State Police said. The move to pass the vehicle was abrupt, and the driver of the pickup lost control. The pickup rolled. No one was wearing seat belts, ISP said, and all three people inside were ejected.

The driver has now been identified as 19-year-old Colleen N. Jackson of Saugus, California. She was killed in the crash. Her two passengers, identified as Weston J. Clements, 23, and Ross C. Barfuss, both of Bancroft, were taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

All were students at Idaho State University in Pocatello.
