Scouts help the needy
Boy Scouts are learning about the art of giving this week. The Grand Teton Council of the Boy Scouts of America are kicking off their annual scouting for food drive.
They hung door-hangers around neighborhoods to put the word out. Scouts will go door to door collecting can goods and nonperishable food that people leave on their doorsteps. The donations are to help locals in need, which is what Boy Scouts representative Brian Porter said being a Boy Scout is all about.
“It’s just a small thing that we can do that gives back to the community. It teaches the boys that they are a larger part of the community and that they can make a difference in meeting the basic needs of individuals in our area.” said Porter
The scouts will be picking up all donations at 9 a.m. Saturday.
